No Dad (for Molly)

My name is Molly
My dad is gone
I thought he’d come back
(I’ve been waiting so long)

I have a hurt
That is down in my heart
I need his love
But, where do I start?

I know that Mom loves me
My brothers and sis
This family together
But someone I miss

Then we went to church
And that’s where I heard
That I have a Daddy!
It says in God’s Word!

A Daddy who loves me
Who wipes away tears
Who always has time
To hear all my fears

I can’t really see Him
But I know He is there
He knows all about me
He’s counted my hair!

And when I feel sad
When I’m crying at night
I think of His loving arms
Holding me tight

He’s quietly waiting
Hears all that I say
He’s gentle and kind
And loves when I pray

Mom reads me the Bible
And I learn about Him
How He called all the kids
How He took all my sin

Now I know in my heart
A Daddy, I have
He’s always with me
My Daddy, my Dad!

About Arrow

Hi and welcome! My pen name is Arrow. The word “arrow” intrigues me because it has two meanings that describe my passions. One, it is an instrument used intentionally to reach a target, and two, it shows the way. As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, my goals are to live for Him, lead others to Him, and glorify the Heavenly Father. I pray that the stories, poems, song lyrics, and devotional thoughts I share on this website will always be inspired by the Holy Spirit and aligned with the truths found in God’s Word. My hope is that the words may penetrate your heart and point the way to a closer relationship with the Savior. I look forward to sharing my journey with you. Experiencing what God has in store is bound to be exciting! May you be blessed! ~ Arrow
