Whatever

What do I do?
What do I say?
It all depends
What I’m thinking today

What fills my thought life
As sin wars for my mind
Complacency and criticism
Need left behind

Stop the wrong thinking
Let His Spirit direct
God’s working in me
And He’s not finished yet

Cast it out, all that’s evil
All that does not honor Him
Replace it with Light
Let the darkness grow dim

These things will I think on
Whatever is true
Whatever is noble
Lord, my focus is You

Whatever is right
Whatever is pure
You know I need help, Lord
Your strength to endure

Whatever is lovely
What can I admire
Teach me the meaning, Lord
Bring my thoughts higher

Whatever is excellent
And worthy of praise
Let this be my focus
All of my days

These things will I think on
Whatever is true
Whatever is noble
Lord, my focus is You

Whatever is right
Whatever is pure
You know I need help, Lord
Your strength to endure

Whatever is lovely
What can I admire
Teach me the meaning, Lord
Bring my thoughts higher

Whatever is excellent
And worthy of praise
Let this be my focus
All of my days

About Arrow

Hi and welcome! My pen name is Arrow. The word “arrow” intrigues me because it has two meanings that describe my passions. One, it is an instrument used offensively to reach a target, and two, it shows the way. As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, my goals are to live for Him, lead others to Him, and glorify the Heavenly Father. I pray that the stories, poems/song lyrics, and devotional thoughts I share on this website may always be inspired by the Holy Spirit and aligned with the truths found in God’s Word. My hope is that the words may penetrate your heart and point the way to a closer relationship with the Savior. I look forward to sharing my journey with you. Experiencing what God has in store is bound to be exciting! May you be blessed! ~ Arrow
