My Salvation Story

Long ago and way back when
My parents took me to church with them
I heard parables in Sunday school
And all about the “Ten Big Rules”

The difference came in seventh grade
I heard kids tell of a decision they’d made
While up at church camp, they changed their behavior
Taking Jesus as Lord, accepting their Savior

What did this mean and what if it’s true?
Jesus was God’s Son, I believed too!
So, we met with the preacher, my folks and me
I learned Jesus died to set us all free

Receiving His mercy, humbled by grace
Buried in baptism, my sins washed away
I was raised from the water to live a new life
With His Spirit inside me, forever my guide

It’s been a long road with bumps ‘long the way
I’ve fallen and failed, but He’s always stayed
Always there in my trouble, there in my fears
(I imagine He holds me and wipes all my tears)

Now my aim is to daily grow closer to Him
By praying and reading His Word once again
By trying to reach out and go where He sends
While “pointing the way” to strangers, family, and friends

About Arrow

Hi and welcome! My pen name is Arrow. The word “arrow” intrigues me because it has two meanings that describe my passions. One, it is an instrument used intentionally to reach a target, and two, it shows the way. As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, my goals are to live for Him, lead others to Him, and glorify the Heavenly Father. I pray that the stories, poems, song lyrics, and devotional thoughts I share on this website will always be inspired by the Holy Spirit and aligned with the truths found in God’s Word. My hope is that the words may penetrate your heart and point the way to a closer relationship with the Savior. I look forward to sharing my journey with you. Experiencing what God has in store is bound to be exciting! May you be blessed! ~ Arrow
