I’m Saved, Now What?
Imagine receiving the gift you’ve always wanted. A musician receives a guitar. The teenager, a car. Newlyweds, a home. Fill in your blank. Now imagine that new guitar never being played. That car, never driven. That home, never lived in. … Continue reading
Take a Chance
Recently, I was invited to join a group of ladies at an English teahouse. Everything about it was a new experience. Besides not knowing what to wear, I would only know one other person! I could have easily bowed (or … Continue reading
Huddle Up
Football fans understand the importance of the huddle. There, players receive the plan, check strategies, and hear the next step to take to reach the goal. It’s where they receive insight, direction, and encouragement and are expected to give their … Continue reading
De-clutter
It was such an unexpected blessing recently when we received a list of household and classroom items needed by a church in Africa. My ‘mission’ was to scavenge each closet, cabinet, and cranny to locate those objects camouflaged in our … Continue reading
Raise the Bar
The 2021 Olympics are looming! Between July 23 and August 8, we will be awed by new world records, stories of overcomers, and testimonies of perseverance. We will watch and cheer wildly as athletes compete and attempt the ‘never been … Continue reading
What Are We Full Of?
Recently, we went fishing, taking a duffel full of warm clothes, a backpack full of food, and a tackle box full of bait, hooks, weights, and swivels. We hoped to return with a stringer full of fish. Besides being full … Continue reading

Wednesday Whisper ~Hammock & Ice Tea
So, this Shepherd provides, once again, everything his ‘sheep’ need, nourishing food, a calm source of water to drink, and a comfortable, safe place to rest. And, we can truly rest when we trust Him with our anxious thoughts, fears, and worries. As you lie your head on the pillow tonight, imagine releasing your worries. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:7). Be refreshed and be at peace. Your Shepherd is near saying, “I’ve got this.” Continue reading

Wednesday Whisper ~ Meet Needs?
Why don’t we need a thing? Because when we accept the fact that we are needy sheep who need a perfect Shepherd and Lord, He promises to meet our needs. Our God who loves us beyond comprehension wants to meet our needs and He already knows what they are. So, let’s stay near the Shepherd, trusting Him in our time of need. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Continue reading
Wed. Whisper ~ Effective & Productive
Notice that being effective and productive is not quick or easy. It is a process that begins with faith, believing in and choosing to live for Jesus. With faith and obedience to the Holy Spirit, our actions and words, or our character, begin to improve. As we apply spiritual knowledge, we gain self-control which helps us to persevere through difficult times. The next virtue, godliness, sounds virtually impossible until we know its meaning. Godliness for believers means being aware of God’s presence in our lives which in turn, effects how we treat others, mirroring how we want to be treated. The ultimate quality we strive for is love, God’s kind of sacrificial love. Continue reading
