“For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” (Psalm 33:4)
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:16-17)
The Bible is true. It is the inspired Word of God, a love letter from God to all mankind. It is a book of ancient history and future hope. It is still relevant today because it contains the message of Good News for all people. The foundation for retraining our thought life will be the Word of God. Each devotion in this series will begin with scripture, AKA truth.
What an honor and blessing it is for us to be able to read God’s Word. There were so many years when there was no written message from God. Eventually, the Law was given and men of God, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, began recording history, songs, proverbs, and the messages of the prophets. This became known as the Old Testament. In the New Testament, we find the life of Jesus, the history of the beginning of the church, letters full of inspired teachings for churches, and final prophecy. The amazing truth is that since the original source or author is God, the entire Bible is true! All of it!
Any time, day or night, I can search on line, look at TV, glance at a news or magazine stand, etc. and I doubt whether what I am reading or hearing is actually true! But this I do know. I can go to any page or any verse in the Bible and know, without a doubt, that what I am reading is a message from the living God, a message of truth!
Today’s thought: The Bible is filled with truth from God for you and me.
