Wednesday Whisper ~ Your Work Rewarded

We all have work to do. In good times, we experience steady progress. Other times, we may feel like a hamster on an exercise wheel, exhausted, yet making no gains. Still some seasons resemble a roller coaster ride with sluggish climbs, plummeting descents, and sharp, unexpected turns—all to find ourselves back where we started!

Whatever work the Lord has given us to do, there is a purpose. There is something to accomplish and there will be a payoff. Whether our current stint is short or long-term, we should stand strong and not give up. We can find encouragement in Old and New Testament verses that still speak to us today.

“…my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58 (The Message)

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” ~ 2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV) Try inserting your name in this verse after the word ‘you.’

About Arrow

Hi and welcome! My pen name is Arrow. The word “arrow” intrigues me because it has two meanings that describe my passions. One, it is an instrument used intentionally to reach a target, and two, it shows the way. As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, my goals are to live for Him, lead others to Him, and glorify the Heavenly Father. I pray that the stories, poems, song lyrics, and devotional thoughts I share on this website will always be inspired by the Holy Spirit and aligned with the truths found in God’s Word. My hope is that the words may penetrate your heart and point the way to a closer relationship with the Savior. I look forward to sharing my journey with you. Experiencing what God has in store is bound to be exciting! May you be blessed! ~ Arrow
