Our Role as Shepherds

When we think of shepherds, we typically imagine the guys who tend sheep. But Scripture gives the title of shepherds to many. Kings, prophets, national influencers, as well as leaders in the church were all called shepherds. My guess is … Continue reading

Mission: Possible

What is your passion? What are your gifts and talents? How could God blend those with your willing spirit to help accomplish the mission He’s assigned you? Listen to where He is calling you. Step into the light He is shining in front of you. Most of the people in the Bible could not have guessed the future God had in store when they stepped forward in faith and said yes. When “all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27b), there is no ‘Mission: Impossible.’ Continue reading

Wednesday Whisper ~ The Path of Life

On the path of life, we do not know what we will encounter, how long the steep, difficult sections may be, the magnificent views we will savor, or what adventures will challenge and change us, but we can know there is One who desires to walk with us and who promises never to leave us. His name is Jesus and He knows the way. He is the most dependable trail guide of all. We can follow Him for direction and lean on Him when we are weak and weary. Through treacherous passages, He may even carry us. Be assured that whatever our course, He is always by our side. Psalm 23:3b says, “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Continue reading

Wednesday Whisper ~ Your Work Rewarded

Whatever work the Lord has given us to do, there is a purpose. There is something to accomplish and there will be a payoff. Whether our current stint is short or long-term, we should stand strong and not give up. We can find encouragement in Old and New Testament verses that still speak to us today. Continue reading

True: God’s Plan of Salvation

God’s plan to save mankind was to send His one and only Son, Jesus. Remember, God wanted a relationship with us, but sin caused us to be separated from God. Therefore, God lovingly made a way for that great chasm to be bridged. Jesus left Heaven, came to earth, and lived a perfect life, never giving in to the temptation of sin. He accepted the punishment of death for all mankind. He was the perfect sacrifice necessary for our salvation. Luke 19:10 states Jesus’ purpose for coming: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” (That’s you and me!) Our salvation is a free gift, paid for in full by Jesus. Continue reading

True: God Is Holy and We Are Sinners

If only God is holy, what does that mean for us? How can we ever have a relationship with Him and eventually join Him in His amazing new heaven and earth? The good news is “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) And “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Continue reading

True: God Seeks and Invites All

The compassionate shepherd leaves his other ninety-nine sheep in safety to seek the one that wandered off. When he finds it, he rejoices! These parables demonstrate God’s great love for us, all of us, those who have not chosen to believe as well as those who believe but have wandered off. Jesus is the shepherd who searches for you, to bring you into His loving arms and rejoice over you! Continue reading

True: God Created You

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:13-14) So… we know that God … Continue reading
