Pray for the Persecuted

For those being persecuted
I whisper a prayer
Almighty Lord, You know
Who, when and where
Your precious ones lie
Behind bolted doors
They stand up for Jesus
In spiritual wars

For those who are cold
In the enemy’s cell
Lord, send a warm cover
Please, keep them well
For all those who hunger
And still thirst for more
We ask that a miracle
From Your mighty hands pour

We plead Your power
To be quickly released
To protect the innocent
Whose beatings increase
While proclaiming Your Name
And giving You praise
Knowing today may be
The last of their days

We pray that You’d send
Encouragement and hope
For believers depressed
Who in dark darkness grope
Lord, send a light
And strength for each day
May they experience Your presence
And power as they pray

And let us not wane
In our prayers for them
Next door may be next
An American
Jesus said it would come
Let’s not close our eyes
Warnings of persecution
Faintly disguised

And then, if tomorrow
We are the ones
Called to stand up
For God’s only Son
Lord, give us the courage
To answer the call
Remembering that You
Gave Your life for our all

The Whisper

I heard the whisper
In my spirit, it felt wrong
But then the world echoed
It louder and long

And louder and louder
And louder, it rang
Bombarding my mind
Invading my space

Transforming my thinking
Attacking my mind
Encouraging me to leave
What I valued behind

The battle raged on
Between Truth, between lie
Between what my heart taught
Between wrong, between right

And then, in the quiet
Another Voice spoke
Tenderly, lovingly
Gently awoke

The spirit of Truth
He had placed within me
The Almighty Creator
Who created – me

He whispered, He loved me
The thought whelmed my mind
He knew that I longed
To be loved my whole life

The aching was deep
He felt my pain seer
He waited patiently
‘Til I welcomed Him near

Then I turned to listen
Let my words be few
Honoring God
Was my duty, I knew

He said, I have a plan
Better than you’ve heard
A plan for My creation
Revealed in My Word

I created them
Man and woman, long ago
Made for each other
A love that would grow

Imperfect in union
In an imperfect place
Where now lies abound
And heresies race

To confuse your mind
To conquer your soul
But where I long to heal
And make you whole

Yes, I long to heal you
And make you whole!

Why?!

The Mighty One, God,
The LORD summons the earth
To call upon Him
In our trouble and hurt
He speaks, the sun rises
Then sets ‘cross the sky
While His people are praising
And others ask, “Why?”

Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why?

Why is this happening?
Why won’t that end?
Why am I not
Being blessed like my friend?
Why won’t things go right?
Why can’t I get a break?
Why such pain and sadness?
Why all this heartache?

Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why?

Hey, what right do we have
To question His ways
Reciting His Word
And His promises claim
When we ignore His instruction
And continue in sin
Slandering others
And not worshipping Him

Forgetting our off’rings
Focused on self
Ignoring our Bible
Calling out on the shelf
Filling our nights and days
Too busy to think
That He might have a plan for us
He’s our “missing link”

Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why?

And what about those
Who faithfully walk
Surrendering self
Guarding their talk
What happens when life
Is interrupted with pain
Hopes and plans shattered
Wanting to blame
Seeking an answer
Someone to explain

Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why?

The Mighty One, God,
The LORD, He still reigns
His strength’s not diminished
Nor power to save
We thought He was like us
In a box with our rules
Defining His boundaries
We played the Fool
Yes, we played the Fool

Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why?

Chorus:
Our Mighty Creator
We call upon You
In our days of trouble
What else can we do?
We need Your mercy
We seek Your face
We will remember
And offer out thanks (to)

Chorus:
Our Mighty Creator
We call upon You
In our days of trouble
What else can we do?
We need Your mercy
We seek Your face
We will remember
And offer out thanks

We will remember
And offer out thanks

He may not give answers
Nor tell you the reason
God is God (is God)
No matter the season
Of life, young or old
Our troubles won’t cease
But by trusting in Him
We can find inner peace

Chorus:
So, our Mighty Creator
We call upon You
In our days of trouble
What else can we do?
We need Your mercy
We seek Your face
We will remember
And offer out thanks (to)

Our Mighty Creator
We call upon You
In our days of trouble
What else can we do?
We need Your mercy
We seek Your face
We will remember
And offer out thanks

We will remember
And offer out thanks

We will remember
And offer out thanks
To the Giver of Grace

The Depth

Oh, the depth of the riches
Of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
Oh, the depth of the riches
Of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

How unsearchable His judgments,
And His paths beyond tracing out!

Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been His counselor?
Who has ever given to God,
That God should repay him, repay him?

For from Him
And through Him
And to Him
Are all things, are all things

For from Him
And through Him
And to Him
Are all things, are all things

To Him be the glory
To Him be the glory
The glory forever!
Amen.

Sing Me a Lullaby

Sing me a lullaby
As I close my eyes
Early dawn and weary day
Now Your stars light the skies

Please sing me a lullaby
I know You are near
Hold my thoughts until tomorrow
Your voice I long to hear

La, la, la, lullaby
Hums my imagination
Notes beyond my wildest dreams
Sung by the God of all creation

La, la, la, lullaby
Blanketed in love
Quieted by the Comforter
Singing from above

Lullaby, la, la, la, lullaby
Present in His peace
Beyond harmonies and symphonies
Heavenly melodies increase

La, la, la, lullaby
Now my soul sings
Humbled that the LORD of Lords
Is singing … over me.

Whatever

What do I do?
What do I say?
It all depends
What I’m thinking today

What fills my thought life
As sin wars for my mind
Complacency and criticism
Need left behind

Stop the wrong thinking
Let His Spirit direct
God’s working in me
And He’s not finished yet

Cast it out, all that’s evil
All that does not honor Him
Replace it with Light
Let the darkness grow dim

These things will I think on
Whatever is true
Whatever is noble
Lord, my focus is You

Whatever is right
Whatever is pure
You know I need help, Lord
Your strength to endure

Whatever is lovely
What can I admire
Teach me the meaning, Lord
Bring my thoughts higher

Whatever is excellent
And worthy of praise
Let this be my focus
All of my days

These things will I think on
Whatever is true
Whatever is noble
Lord, my focus is You

Whatever is right
Whatever is pure
You know I need help, Lord
Your strength to endure

Whatever is lovely
What can I admire
Teach me the meaning, Lord
Bring my thoughts higher

Whatever is excellent
And worthy of praise
Let this be my focus
All of my days

My Daddy

Verse 1:
Last night I went runnin’ home
Cryin’ from the pain
Hurtful words still stinging
Echoing again
And when I reached my Daddy
Suddenly I knew
His cheeks were streaked with tears because
He’d heard them too!

Chorus:
I know my “Daddy” loves me
I know my “Daddy” cares
I know He shares my joy and pain
He listens to my prayers
He waits for me with open arms
And knows just where to start
He touches me so tenderly
And heals my broken heart

Verse 2:
Some dads busy with their work
No time to stop and play
Some dads filled with anger
Forcing kids away
Some dads move on to another life
Letting others raise their own
Leaving them a last name
And a father still unknown

Chorus:
But, I know my “Daddy” loves me
I know my “Daddy” cares
I know He shares my joy and pain
He listens to my prayers
He waits for me with open arms
And knows just where to start
He touches me so tenderly
And heals my broken heart

Repeat CHORUS

Just As They Had Been Told

Verse 1:
Born of a woman, offspring of Abraham  (Gen. 3:15; 18:18)
Star out of Jacob, from Judah, a Lamb (Num. 24:17; Gen. 49:10)
Born in Bethlehem of Judea so small (Mic. 5:2)
Born of a virgin, the Lord of all  (Isa. 7:14)

Verse 2:
Called out of Egypt, in Galilee, a light  (Hos. 11:1; Isa. 9:1-2)
Rejected by the Jews who thought they knew right  (Isa. 53:3)
A Spirit of wisdom, of knowledge and power  (Isa. 11:2)
Honored on a donkey in a triumphant hour!  (Zech. 9:9)

Chorus:
These were words of the prophets so distinctive, so bold
Yet the people seemed blinded, deafened, and cold
They had not understood the prophecies of old
And now, all had happened – just as they had been told

Verse 3:
Sold for silver, betrayed by a friend (Zech. 11:12; Ps. 41:9)
Mocked and spit upon, hated by men (Isa. 50:6; Ps. 69:4)
Crucified with sinners to set all men free (Isa. 53:12)
Abandoned the grave, ascended to victory, oh! (Ps. 16:10; 68:18)

CHORUS

Verse 4:
The final words of prophecy
Are spoken by Jesus to you and to me
(spoken:) In Revelation, Jesus says, “Behold, I am coming soon!
My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.”
(Rev. 22:12)

Final Chorus:
These words of the Prophet so distinctive, so bold
Will you be blinded, deafened, and cold?
Or, will you understand what Jesus foretold?
For soon, all will happen – just as you have been told

Ending:
Soon all will happen – just as you have been,
You have been, you have been told
Just as you have been, you have been, you have been told
You have been told

Every Life

I cry for those who never cried
Who never saw the world outside
I cry for infants who were never held

Forgive us Lord, out guilt is great
How can our nation bear the weight
They had no choice; we had them killed!

I cry for those persuaded by
“Women’s Rights” and outright lies
For those who never saw their baby’s face

I cry for women’s broken hearts
Filled with shame and painful scars
There’s healing in God’s forgiveness and His grace!

Every life, a precious gift
Every life, a hope
For one to rise and do great things
And choose the narrow road

Every life, woven by God
A life, whether long or short
Every life within the womb
A babe, not to abort!

So take a stand, America
Be strengthened like an eagle
Let His Spirit be your guide
To change what should not be legal

And then go out, America
Show love to that mom in need
Extend God’s mercy and compassion
For she has a child to feed
